Where should we yarnbomb next?

We had so much fun Saturday night that of course, we're going to do it again, Stocktonians! The question is: where? It needs to be public, where a lot of people are exposed to it.

We want places where we don't have to worry about a strong police presence, nosy security guards or tons of cameras... this can be considered vandalism, even though we are being careful and considerate of property and plant life. Is there a statue in need of a new outfit? An ugly bike rack or bus stop? Give us your suggestions!

Also... if anyone is willing to donate acrylic yarn to our project, yes, we will gladly accept! Even partial skeins are welcome.

  2. The Miracle Mile might be fun, but tricky considering the foot and auto traffic that go by. However, we did spend an hour and a half in a park, running around tying things to trees, across the street from some huge event at the Civic, while lots of cars (including some cops) drove by, oblivious to our presence.

Wherever we strike next, it'll be fun to see what happens!

  3. There will be a 4th of July parade on the Miracle Mile. I think we should hang stars and stripes up and down the mile to show our support!

  4. It's tempting, but with all the other bunting sure to be up, the tags may be overlooked and unnoticed, then discarded by the cleanup committee.

I, personally, would rather do something else "patriotic" like find a statue somewhere in town and give it a red, white and blue outfit. Or wrap the trunk of a dead tree that would otherwise be an eyesore in red/white/blue barberpole stripes with some stars hanging on it. Something that would be so out of the ordinary as to catch someone's eye and engage their curiosity.

  5. I just wanted to let you know that the Miracle Mile was yarnbombed in time for the 4th of July parade. Sixty crocheted stars in red, white, blue and gold were placed in intervals along Pacific from Harding to Castle. I hope you will check it out. Photos will be posted soon. Thanks for the inspiration!
